About Hardwood
- Hardwood is manufactured in either solid or engineered planks and fitted with "tongue and groove" or more recently "click together" locking systems.
- Solid hardwood is more susceptible to changes in the climate and humidity, therefore they aren't manufactured in wide planks and can't be installed in certain areas.
- Engineered hardwood can be installed in areas where temperature/humidity fluctuates like basements & manufactured in wider, longer planks.
- Superior hardwoods have aluminum oxide finishes; aluminum oxide is the hardest substance on the planet below diamonds.
